ADVENTURE VACATION SICILY

Our 7-day adventure Camp is built for travelers who want it all: cycling, walking/running, hiking, paddleboarding, yoga, Pilates, are just a few sports woven into one multi-day Sicilian getaway. Rather than focusing on a single sport, this camp mixes disciplines day to day, so no two days look the same.

One day might start with a coastal ride, a paddle, yoga or hike through the hills, followed by an afternoon exploring Sicily. Sicily's varied terrain, from volcanic slopes to Mediterranean coastline, gives every activity its own character. Our guided sessions are paired with real recovery time and plenty of room to explore the towns, food, and culture along the way.

This vacation suits active travelers who want variety over specialization, whether you're a dedicated multisport athlete or someone who simply enjoys staying moving while on vacation. Groups are kept small, and all training is scaled to fit different fitness levels. Adventure Camp runs on set dates each season.

A presto! Live your pawfect life.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TERRIER
ADVENTURE VACATION

7:00 AM — WAKE UP
Alarm goes off with the sun already doing its thing over the water. Bolt's ready before you've found your hiking shoes.

7:30 AM — BREAKFAST
Coffee, something solid, and the quiet acknowledgment that today involves a mountain.

9:15 AM — HIKE BEGINS (Isola Bella)
Starting at sea level, literally. Isola Bella's the last flat ground you'll see for a while, so take one more look at the water before it becomes a very nice view far below you.

9:30 AM — CLIMB
Switchbacks, stone steps, and views of the coastline that get better every time you stop pretending you're not out of breath. Guides keep the pace honest and the water bottles moving.

10:30 AM — HALFWAY STOP: EAT & EXPLORE TAORMINA CENTRO
Legs get a break, stomachs get a refill. Wander the centro, poke into a shop or two, eat something that makes the first half of the climb feel worth it, because it is.

12:15 PM — CLIMB RESUMES
Second half's shorter but steeper. This is the part where somebody asks "is it much further" in a tone that already suspects the answer.

1:15 PM — MADONNA DELLA ROCCA
Arrival at the church, and the view that makes every step up here make sense. Catch your breath, take the photo, let it sink in a little.

2:00 PM — DESCEND
Down is easier on the lungs, harder on the knees. Take it slow, the view's not going anywhere.

3:30 PM — SNACK
Round two. We don't do small portions here. We do fuel.

4:30 PM — FREE TIME
Sea, shade, or a nap. All correct choices after a mountain.

6:30 PM — DINNER
Frozen drinks, arancini, teammates who feel like family after conquering a mountain together. This is the good part. This is why you keep coming back.

9:00 PM — SLEEP
Lights out early. Legs tired, view unforgettable, already telling everyone back home about it.

Repeat tomorrow. Climb something. Explore more. Recover well.

FAQ's

How does Terrier designate levels?

Easy Peasy: You take the stairs most days, maybe walk the dog around the block, and consider a leisurely stroll a workout.

Beginner: You work out 1 to 2 times a week, mixing in some cardio, and are just getting comfortable being active outdoors.

Intermediate: You're active 2 to 3 times a week across cycling, walking, or other cardio, and you can handle a full day on your feet or in the saddle without needing to nap through dinner.

Intermediate/Advanced: You're active 3 to 4 times a week, comfortable stringing together back to back active days, and recover quickly enough to do it again the next morning.

Advanced: You're active 4 to 5+ times a week, treat a long day of cycling, walking, or swimming as a fun challenge rather than a chore, and could probably out-hike, out-ride, or out-last most of the group.

Still not sure? Email us and we'll talk through your fitness background together.

How should I pack?

Travel light with a backpack and a carry on to avoid the stress of delayed luggage. You won't need to overpack since laundry service is available, which is included in the trip. Pack minimally, stay mobile, and make the most of the adventure, we're moving between cities, a boat, and the beach, not just the saddle.

Can I bring someone who doesn't love fitness?

Absolutely. Your partner or a family member is welcome to join. Please note this still counts as a spot in the group, so we're not able to offer a discount. Partners travel to and from fitness locations with us and have the option of participating or capturing photos. It's a fun way to experience the trip from a different seat, and who knows, maybe a future support crew member is born.

What if I can't complete a day's activity?

No problem at all. Always places to bail along the way.

What if I have special food needs or medication?

You're welcome to self carry, or we can store items in the support vehicle and hand them off as needed. Since the vehicles move between groups throughout the day, keep in mind that immediate access isn't always guaranteed.

Is alcohol included?

It's not included, but you're welcome to enjoy a glass and sip responsibly, whether that's an aperitivo after a climb or a granita break in Trapani.

I'm arriving early or staying longer, can you help?

Of course. We're happy to help arrange additional tours, accommodations, or extra riding time before or after the trip.

I'm arriving a day late or leaving a day early, can I still join?

Yes. We'll coordinate a plan for you to meet the group later or depart earlier. Note that additional transportation arrangements may come with an extra fee.

Do accommodations have private bathrooms?

Yes. Rooms booked for one or two people include a private bathroom. Rooms for three or more may share a bathroom, though everyone still has their own bedroom. Some of our properties are in historic buildings, so a bathroom might feature a hand held shower attached to the tub. Consider it part of the charm, that same bathroom has seen a few centuries come and go.

Can I work remotely for a day or a few hours?

Definitely doable. We'll share estimated daily departure and arrival times ahead of the trip so you can plan around them. Just know we'll be riding through some remote areas and out on the water some days, so cell coverage can be spotty. Consider it the ultimate work from anywhere challenge.

What's the cancellation policy?

We know plans change, so we've built in as much flexibility as we can. A deposit of $900 secures your spot, with the following refund and credit structure based on how far out you cancel. We're unable to make exceptions to this policy for personal emergencies, weather or travel delays, natural disasters, or other unforeseen events. Terrier reserves the right to cancel a trip if athlete or staff safety is a concern, in that case, payments received will be considered final settlement.

More than 90 days out: fully refundable or credited to a future adventure.

61 to 90 days out: 75 percent refundable credit, or 100 percent credit toward a future Terrier Adventure or Livestream membership.

31 to 60 days out: 50 percent refundable credit, or 75 percent credit toward a future Terrier Adventure or Livestream membership.

0 to 30 days out: no refundable credit, but 15 percent credit toward Terrier Livestream.

What should I do to prepare physically?

You'll receive a 12 week training schedule ahead of the trip to help you build the endurance you'll need. Following it will make the tougher days, and the beach days, far more enjoyable.

Is travel insurance recommended?

Yes, we strongly recommend travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, medical care, and gear. Given the nature of the cancellation policy above, insurance offers extra peace of mind.

Will I have wifi or phone access during the trip?

The accommodations offer wifi, but coverage can be limited in the more remote parts of the route and out on the water. We recommend downloading anything you need offline and letting friends or family know signal may be inconsistent during fitness hours.

What currency should I bring, and is tipping expected?

Euros are the local currency, and most accommodations and restaurants accept cards, though cash is handy in smaller towns. Tipping isn't mandatory in Sicily but is always appreciated for exceptional service from our guides and staff.

What happens if I get injured or need medical attention?

Your safety is our top priority. Our team is trained to respond quickly, and support vehicles carry first aid supplies. For anything beyond minor care, we'll coordinate transport to the nearest medical facility.
