WELLNESS VACATHLON SICILY

Pink Poppy Flowers

Slow down for 7 days without losing momentum. Wellness Vacation is a Sicilian retreat centered entirely on yoga, Pilates, and GYROTONIC®, designed for anyone who wants to deepen their practice while surrounded by the coastline and countryside of Catania. Sessions are led in person at our Sicilian studio, in partnership with Catania Pilates & GYROTONIC®, and paced to balance focused movement work with real rest, so you leave stronger and more mobile, not just relaxed. Whether you're returning to your mat daily or exploring GYROTONIC® for the first time, the program is shaped around your experience level and what your body needs that week.

Days blend studio sessions with time to explore, coastal walks, local markets, and quiet afternoons, so the wellness work stays connected to the rhythm of Sicily itself.

Yes, you can bring your dog. This is Terrier Fitness, after all, and some of our best planning sessions have involved a wagging tail under the table!

Have a question about our vacation? Email us at terrierfit@gmail.com, or we also offer a free 20 minute Zoom video call from our studio in Catania. When emailing us just add you'd like to talk via Zoom. Give us a few time options, and keep the Sicily time difference (CET) in mind when picking them. We will send you a Zoom link with meeting details.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TERRIER WELLNESS VACATION

7:00 AM — WAKE UP
Your alarm goes off. Bolt is already awake, judging you for oversleeping by exactly zero minutes.

7:30 AM — BREAKFAST
Coffee, something warm, and quiet acceptance of your fate. Nobody talks much. Nobody has to.

8:15 AM — SESSION ONE (Yoga or Pilates)
Sunrise flow or reformer work, depending on the day. Either way, you'll find muscles you forgot you had.

10:15 AM — EAT
Round two. You've earned it. You will eat like stillness is a competitive sport.

11:00 AM — EXPLORE
Market stalls, cliffside towns, gelato that counts as hydration. This is the part where camp stops feeling like a schedule and starts feeling like a trip.

2:00 PM — SNACK
A brief, sacred pause. Speak to no one. Just eat.

2:30 PM — SESSION TWO (Gyrotonic or Pilates)
Movements nobody can quite describe to their friends back home, but everybody leaves taller somehow.

4:30 PM — SNACK
We don't do small portions here. We do fuel.

5:00 PM — FREE TIME
Nap, dip in the sea, do absolutely nothing. Doctor's orders.

6:30 PM — DINNER
Frozen drinks. Arancini. Teammates who are now basically family. This is the good part. This is why you keep coming back.

9:30 PM — SLEEP
Lights out early, and you have never been prouder of anything in your life.

Repeat tomorrow. Slow down. Explore. Recover well.

FAQ's

How does Terrier designate levels?
Easy Peasy: You take the stairs most days, maybe stretch before bed, and consider a slow walk with the dog a workout.
Beginner: You move your body 1 to 2 times a week and are just getting comfortable with a regular mat or studio practice.
Intermediate: You're active 2 to 3 times a week across yoga, pilates, or other movement, and you can handle a full day of sessions without needing to nap through dinner.
Intermediate/Advanced: You're active 3 to 4 times a week, comfortable stringing together back to back practice days, and recover quickly enough to do it again the next morning.
Advanced: You're active 4 to 5+ times a week, treat a full day of Pilates, Yoga, and Gyrotonic as a fun challenge rather than a chore, and could probably out-stretch, out-hold, or out-last most of the group.
Still not sure? Email us and we'll talk through your movement background together.

How should I pack?
Travel light with a backpack and a carry on to avoid the stress of delayed luggage. You won't need to overpack since laundry service is available, which is included in the trip. Pack minimally, stay mobile, and make the most of the practice, we're moving between mat work, reformer sessions, and Gyrotonic equipment, not just the saddle.

Can I bring someone who doesn't love fitness?
Absolutely. Your partner or a family member is welcome to join. Please note this still counts as a spot in the group, so we're not able to offer a discount. Partners travel to and from camp events with us and have the option of participating or capturing photos. It's a fun way to experience the trip from a different mat, and who knows, maybe a future practice partner is born.

What if I can't complete a day's session?
No problem at all. Every session is built to scale up or down, and there's always a version of the movement that works for where your body is that day.

What if I have special food needs or medication?
You're welcome to self carry, or we can keep items at the house for easy access. Since we're based out of one house and studio for the camp rather than moving location to location, getting to your things is simple.

Is alcohol included?
It's not included, but you're welcome to enjoy a glass and sip responsibly, whether that's an aperitivo after your evening session or a granita break by the water.

I'm arriving early or staying longer, can you help?

Of course. We're happy to help arrange additional tours, accommodations, or extra studio time before or after the trip.

I'm arriving a day late or leaving a day early, can I still join?
Yes. We'll coordinate a plan for you to meet the group later or depart earlier. Note that additional transportation arrangements may come with an extra fee.

Do accommodations have private bathrooms?
Yes. Rooms booked for one or two people include a private bathroom. Rooms for three or more may share a bathroom, though everyone still has their own bedroom. Some of our properties are in historic buildings, so a bathroom might feature a hand held shower attached to the tub. Consider it part of the charm, that same bathroom has seen a few centuries come and go.

Can I work remotely for a day or a few hours?
Definitely doable. We'll share estimated daily session times ahead of the trip so you can plan around them. The house and studio both have solid Wi-Fi, so it's a genuinely workable work-from-anywhere setup between sessions.

What's the cancellation policy?

We know plans change, so we've built in as much flexibility as we can. A deposit of $900 secures your spot, with the following refund and credit structure based on how far out you cancel. We're unable to make exceptions to this policy for personal emergencies, weather or travel delays, natural disasters, or other unforeseen events. Terrier reserves the right to cancel a trip if athlete or staff safety is a concern, in that case, payments received will be considered final settlement.
- More than 90 days out: fully refundable or credited to a future adventure.
- 61 to 90 days out: 75 percent refundable credit, or 100 percent credit toward a future Terrier - Adventure or Livestream membership.
- 31 to 60 days out: 50 percent refundable credit, or 75 percent credit toward a future Terrier Adventure or Livestream membership.
- 0 to 30 days out: no refundable credit, but 15 percent credit toward Terrier Livestream.

What should I do to prepare physically?
No need to train like you're racing, just come ready to move. If you're carrying any nagging tightness or old injuries, let us know ahead of time so we can plan sessions around them and get the most out of your week.

Is travel insurance recommended?

Yes, we strongly recommend travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, medical care, and gear. Given the nature of the cancellation policy above, insurance offers extra peace of mind.

Will I have wifi or phone access during the trip?
Yes, the house and studio both have solid Wi-Fi, and Marina di Ragusa has strong cell coverage throughout the area.

What currency should I bring, and is tipping expected?
Euros are the local currency, and most accommodations and restaurants accept cards, though cash is handy in smaller towns. Tipping isn't mandatory in Sicily but is always appreciated for exceptional service from our instructors and staff.

What happens if I get injured or need medical attention?
Your safety is our top priority. Our instructors are trained to respond quickly, and the house keeps first aid supplies on hand. For anything beyond minor care, we'll coordinate transport to the nearest medical facility.
