2027 TRIATHLON VACATHLON FLORIDA

Feb 26th - March 7th, 10 Days
March 3rd - March 7th, 5 Days

Terrier Camp is 24 years running, and this one will be the best yet. Choose 5 or 10 days of vacation plus triathlon: a few solid workouts, a race sprinkled in, and happy campers all around.

Join us in sunny Clermont, Florida, at the National Training Center, the same world class facility Olympians use to get fast. We'll sharpen your swim, bike, and run, and send you home a different athlete than the one who showed up. On March 6th we race The Great Clermont Triathlon, with Sprint and Olympic options to cap off camp and tune you up for the 2027 season.

We keep camp small on purpose. That means real coaching, real feedback, and Coach actually watching your stroke, your cadence, your form, not just yelling splits from across the pool deck. If you've been chasing a breakthrough all season, this is where it happens: uninterrupted training, zero distractions, and the kind of consistency that rewires what you think you're capable of.

And because it's Terrier, we go hard and have an absolute blast doing it. Frozen drinks after the big days. Grouper sandwiches with legendary status. Teammates who become the people you text race results to for the rest of your life. And yes, Coach's in person motivation, sometimes loud, always exactly what you needed to hear on rep four of six.

You'll leave fitter, faster, sun kissed, and already counting down to next year. Train hard. Recover well. Have a blast. See you in Clermont.

24 years running, and this one might be the best yet! Join Terrier for five, seven or 10 day in sunny Clermont, Florida, training at the National Training Center — the same world-class facility Olympians use to get fast. This isn't a vacation with a few workouts sprinkled in. This is five focused days built to sharpen your swim, bike, and run, and send you home a different athlete than the one who showed up.

Arrival: Land at Orlando International Airport (MCO) by 11:00 AM on March 25. Vans roll out for Clermont at 12:00 PM sharp — afternoon workouts are already on the schedule, so come ready to move.

Departure: Plan to depart MCO no earlier than 3:00 PM on March 29. Morning workouts are happening that day too, so squeeze every last rep out of camp before you fly home.

Driving in or renting a car? We'll send you the house and NTC addresses — give yourself 45–60 minutes to reach the National Training Center.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TERRIER VACATHLON

5:45 AM — WAKE UP
Your alarm goes off. Bolt is already awake, judging you.

6:15 AM — BREAKFAST
Coffee, carbs, and quiet acceptance of your fate. Nobody talks much. Nobody has to.

7:00 AM — SWIM
Perfect water, warm bodies, questionable stroke technique getting fixed in real time.

9:00 AM — EAT
Round two. You've earned it. You will eat like this is a competitive sport.

9:30 AM — STRETCH
Ten minutes of pretending you're flexible, followed by audible groaning that has nothing to do with effort and everything to do with age.

10:00 AM — BIKE
Hours in the saddle, rolling Florida hills, and at least one person asking "how many more miles" in a tone that suggests they already know the answer and hate it.

1:00 PM — SNACK
A brief, sacred pause. Speak to no one. Just eat.

2:00 PM — RUN
Legs are not thrilled about this. You do it anyway, because that's the whole point.

3:30 PM — SNACK
We don't do small portions here. We do fuel.

4:00 PM — STRENGTH
Where you find muscles you forgot you had, then immediately regret finding them.

5:00 PM — SNACK
At this point it's less "snacking" and more "a fourth meal with extra steps."

6:30 PM — DINNER
Frozen drinks. Grouper sandwiches. Teammates who are now basically family. This is the good part. This is why you keep coming back.

9:00 PM — SLEEP
Lights out before 9:30, and you have never been prouder of anything in your life.

Repeat tomorrow. Train hard. Recover well. Have a blast.

FAQ's

How does Terrier designate levels?

Easy Peasy: You swim a few laps, bike around the neighborhood, and jog when the dog needs walking.

Beginner: You've done a sprint tri or two, you swim without panicking, and you own exactly one pair of bike shorts. Intermediate: You've raced an Olympic distance, train 3-4 times a week across all three sports, and have opinions about your run shoes.

Intermediate/Advanced: You're training with real structure, chasing a 70.3, and you know your FTP off the top of your head.

Advanced: You've done a 70.3 or full Ironman, train 5+ times a week, and your idea of a rest day is "just" an easy 3000k swim. Still not sure? Email us and we'll talk through your fitness and triathlon background together.

How should I pack?

Travel light with a backpack and a carry on to avoid the stress of delayed luggage. Bring your swim, bike, and run gear plus enough training clothes. We do have a washer and drier at the house so you don't have to over do it. Pack minimally, stay mobile, and make the most of the training.

Can I bring someone who doesn't train?

Absolutely. Your partner or a family member is welcome to join. Please note this still counts as a spot in the group, so we're not able to offer a discount. Non-training guests are welcome to hang at the pool, use the NTC facility, or explore Clermont and Orlando on their own during workout blocks.

What if I can't complete a workout or get tired?

No problem at all. Coach adjusts sets on the fly, and you can always shorten a swim, bike, or run, hop in for recovery, or just cheer everyone else on. Camp is built to meet you where your fitness is, not the other way around.

What if I have special food needs or medication?

You're welcome to self-carry, or let us know ahead of time so we can plan the house grocery run around it. Since dinners are a mix of nights out and home-cooked meals, flag any needs early so we can work around them.

Is alcohol included? It's not included, but you're welcome to enjoy a frozen drink or a glass of something and sip responsibly — we won't judge, this is Terrier camp after all.

I'm arriving early or staying longer, can you help?

Of course. We're happy to help you figure out extra nights near Clermont or additional NTC access before or after the official camp dates.

I'm arriving a day late or leaving a day early, can I still join? Yes. We'll coordinate a plan for you to meet the group later or depart earlier. Note that additional transportation arrangements beyond the included MCO transfer windows may come with an extra fee.

Do accommodations have private bathrooms?

Room types vary — some include a private bath, others share a bathroom while keeping private bedrooms. Full room-by-room details and pricing are on the sign-up page, and rooms go fast.

Can I work remotely for a day or a few hours?

Definitely doable. Wi-Fi is included at the house, and we'll share the daily itinerary ahead of time so you can plan work blocks around training. Just don't expect to sneak away during an NTC pool session, coach will notice.

What's the cancellation policy?

We know plans change, so we've built in as much flexibility as we can. A deposit secures your spot, with the following refund and credit structure based on how far out you cancel. We're unable to make exceptions to this policy for personal emergencies, weather or travel delays, or other unforeseen events. Terrier reserves the right to cancel a trip if athlete or staff safety is a concern; in that case, payments received will be considered final settlement.

  • More than 90 days out: fully refundable or credited to a future adventure.

  • 61 to 90 days out: 75 percent refundable credit, or 100 percent credit toward a future Terrier Adventure or Livestream membership.

  • 31 to 60 days out: 50 percent refundable credit, or 75 percent credit toward a future Terrier Adventure or Livestream membership.

  • 0 to 30 days out: no refundable credit, but 15 percent credit toward Terrier Livestream.

Do I need to bring my own bike?

Not required. You can rent locally ($275–$400 depending on bike type) or ship your own bike from NYC on the Terrier Trailer with the group ($375 round trip if minimum participation is met). If you'd rather fly with your own bike independently, let us know in advance and we'll help you plan for it.

What's the group training pace like?

We group athletes by ability each day so everyone trains at a pace that suits them. Coaches stay hands-on across swim, bike, and run sessions, so you're always getting real-time feedback, not just splits shouted from the pool deck.

Do I need prior triathlon experience?

Some helps, but it's not required. All levels are welcome, and workouts are structured so beginners and seasoned racers can train side by side without either one suffering for it.

What should I do to prepare physically? Come in with a reasonable swim, bike, and run base if you can — the more consistent your training beforehand, the more you'll get out of five focused days of high-quality coaching. Email us if you want guidance on building up before camp.

Is travel insurance recommended? Yes, we strongly recommend travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, medical care, and gear. Given the cancellation policy above, insurance offers extra peace of mind.

Will I have wifi or phone access during the trip?

Yes, the house and the NTC includes Wi-Fi, and Clermont has solid cell coverage throughout and on most of our ride and run routes.

What happens if I get injured or need medical attention?

Your safety is our top priority. Coaches are equipped to respond quickly, and for anything beyond minor care we'll coordinate transport to a nearby medical facility. Clermont has excellent options close by.
